Martin Evans wins the Winter Series

Light winds meant the cancellation of the last two racing days of the Winter Series. Martin Evans wins the Winter Series in his Lightning 368 (LN 150) with two wins, two seconds and a third from the six races he sailed and the total of eight races competed for across November and December. James Long (OK 1990 and 2130) came second in the series and Clive Evison (P 1355) was third.

The Winter Series races also count towards a Personal Handicap series and this year it was won by Clive Evison ahead of Andrew Boxer and James Long.

The series was blighted by poor sailing conditions with unseasonably light wind halting most of the racing and only one weekend of strong river current preventing the sailors getting out. Eleven sailors competed in the series with five different race winners.

Congratulations to both trophy winners, the prizes will be given out at the club AGM.
