The U-21 Trophy followed the afternoon’s coaching session and was won by Keira Swinney in her Lightning sail number 114.
The race officer, Tricia Evison set a simple course in front of the clubhouse with a A buoy before the Cookham Ben taken to starboard and a C buoy positioned in front of the club jetty, again taken the starboard. At the start of the first race, Leo Salem in Lightning sail number 190 got a good start just ahead of Ava Knight in one of the club’s Toppers and Arthur Knight in another club Topper with Keira behind. The experienced sailors were able to take advantage in the light winds and Keira passed Arthur and Eva to chase after Leo. Leo held onto his lead and took the win in the first race.

In the second race, Ava made another good start leading at the start with Leo second and Arthur third. Keira fought her way through the field and was soon challenging Leo for the lead. She passed Leo on the return leg of the second lap and held on to take the win. With the weighting on the second race, she won the U-21 Trophy with Leo second, Ava third and Arthur fourth.
