Harbour Cup race report

There was a good turn out of seven competitors for the 2019 Harbour Cup on 22nd June. Four classes of dinghy competed as two Lightnings, two Toppers, an OK and a Topaz raced and its was excellent to see two of our young sailors; Arabella Betts and Max Phillis competing in Toppers.

The conditions were challenging with very light winds of around 5-10 mph from the south and occasional gusts.

The first race was won by James Long in his OK (sail number 2094) with Lucinda Taylor hot on his heels on corrected times with Arabella Betts third and Max Phillis fourth.

In the second race Lucinda exploited the gusts excellently and pulled out a significant margin on James by the finish with Shannon Phillis in Lightning (Sea Eagle) third and Justin Blake (Topaz) fourth.

Overall, Lucinda Taylor took a convincing win ahead of James Long, Shannon Phillis third, Arabella Betts fourth and Max Phillis fifth.
