Racing was cancelled on Sunday April 16th for the third consecutive week with the season-opening Champagne Race being cancelled on April 2nd, then the Easter Monday Egg Race on April 10th. All three races were cancelled due to the river conditions status of the River Thames as the river was under red board status. The Environment Agency advise that all boats should not navigate in these conditions, Cookham Reach Sailing Club does not allow sailing and dinghy insurance does not provide cover under red boards.
The committee is keeping its fingers crossed for dry weather in the coming week and this causes a change to the river conditions to allow sailing.
