Conditions for the Enterprise Championship were less severe than the weather forecasted with medium winds, short shifting gusts and lots of wind pockets instead of the strong winds predicted. Five Enterprises raced for the Championship with the three best scores from four races counting for points. The OD (Peter Blundell) set a challenging course with a downstream start and two distant middle buoys ensuring two long beats per lap.
The first race was a close battle between Dave Phillips/Martin Church (21099) and Clive and Tricia Evison (23043) with Dave finishing first.
The second race was decided by a sudden wind drop at the first buoy, Richard Cartwright/Ray Swinney (22174) and Dave/Martin got around the buoy before the drop but Clive/Tricia and Gary Adshead/James Long (23158) were stuck at the buoy for several minutes and spent the rest of the race trying to catch up. The two leaders battled for the win and Dave won ahead of Richard.
After lunch Dave finished ahead of Richard after battling all race and Tanja van Wyngaardt/? (22375) taking third after a close finish ahead of 23158.
The course was changed for the final race and Dave and Martin won again.
The Enterprise Championship was won by Dave and Martin ahead of Richard and Ray with Clive and Tricia third.
